Learn, Share, Grow - Train Your Brain

learn share grow

Below is a lesson from Daniel Pink on how your mindset shapes your brain, as well as our key learnings.

The Blue Courage team is dedicated to continual learning and growth.  We have adopted a concept from Simon Sinek’s Start With Why team called “Learn, Share, Grow”.  We are constantly finding great articles, videos, and readings that have so much learning.  As we learn new and great things, this new knowledge should be shared for everyone to then grow from.

Neuroscience fun fact:

Complaining, judging, or criticizing doesn’t just drag others down it literally rewires your brain to make you less focused and less effective.

1. Hebb’s Law: Neurons that fire together, wire together. Complain often, and you train your brain to see more problems—while missing solutions.

Key Learnings:

  • Complaining and criticizing don’t just affect mood—they physically rewire the brain for negativity.

  • Repeated negative thinking strengthens neural pathways that focus on problems, not solutions (Hebb’s Law).

  • Chronic negativity shrinks the prefrontal cortex, weakening focus, decision-making, and emotional control.

  • Positivity, gratitude, and optimism do the opposite—they expand thinking and strengthen the brain’s problem-solving capacity.

  • Every word and thought is brain training—choose to wire your mind for abundance, not scarcity.
